About the Tour

Promenading virtually on the marble rock of the ๐—”๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜€, literally โ€œthe top of the cityโ€, we unfold mythical stories, known and unknown, about the peculiar and powerful ๐—ด๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€ ๐—”๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฎ, patroness of an equally unique and majestic city, and about ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐˜‚๐˜€, a local hero equal to Hercules, and his struggles defending Hellenism. Meanwhile, we outline real wars of the Greeks united against the Persian invaders, or fighting with each other, as well as the magnificent works of peace, featuring the most ancient olive tree planted by ๐—”๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฎ right there on the ๐—”๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜€ rock, and the most perfect of all Greek temples, the ๐—ฃ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ผ๐—ป, dedicated to Athena as a virgin goddess (Parthenos). We discover the ๐—ข๐—น๐˜†๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ด๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐˜€, one by one with their special symbols and favorite trees or animals, as well as demons and monsters, that the Greeks imagined lurking in the wilderness and undermining Greek culture at any given opportunity!

With the valuable contribution of state-of-the-art technology, we bring into your classroom the glorious ruins of the ๐—”๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜€, under the sublime Athenian light, as if we were actually there, while filling in the exciting puzzle of all missing pieces, reconstructing the original picture of the monuments and matching hem with corresponding exhibits in the ๐—ก๐—ฒ๐˜„ ๐—”๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐— ๐˜‚๐˜€๐—ฒ๐˜‚๐—บ!

Finally, reflection and sharing of impressions and feelings, as well as educational activities and games, will complete our coloful -both literally and figuratively- tour of the ๐—”๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜€!

Educational activities, such as games, quizzes, role-playing, and mini contests among student groups or classes, with little surprise prizes from us, will give children the opportunity for active participation and creative reflection on what they have seen and heard, completing this colorful, both literally and figuratively, experience!
