About the Tour

Join us on a thrilling, virtual stroll around one of the finest museum collections in the world, capturing the creation of social sex, gender, in ancient Greece! Unlocking mythical or every-day stories behind selected exhibits, statues, reliefs, and vase scenes, we shall explore social notions about the nature and place of women and men, and the Greek outlook on how men and women should interact and participate in family and communal life. We shall vividly recreate aspects of daily experience, raising issues of love and sexuality, marriage and family, upbringing and education, labor and leisure, by gender. Finally, we shall discuss the segregation of roles and spaces between women and men within the house and the city, initializing a dynamic dialogue with the past. ✅𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗢𝗥: Dr. Anthi Dipla Classical archaeologist/art historian who has graduated from Oxford University (MA, PhD).
