Eleni Lianta

Eleni Lianta received her undergraduate degree in Archaeology from the Aristotle University of Thessalonica. She holds a M.St in Byzantine Studies and a D.Phil in Byzantine Numismatics from the University of Oxford. She taught at the University of the Aegean (winter semester 2007), at the Hellenic Open University (2008-2020), and she is currently teaching at the Open University of Cyprus. For nine years, during the archaeological excavations conducted for the construction of the METRO in Thessalonica, she was employed by Attiko Metro as a byzantinist-numismatist. She is the author of the book Late Byzantine coins (1204-1453) in the Ashmolean Museum University of Oxford (London, 2009), and of many articles published in foreign and Greek scientific journals.
